Black Lotus

Way back in 1993 a then unknown card game was announced, Magic: The Gathering. At that time no one knew that this simple card game would become a world wide phenomenon. In that early limited edition set was one card that would go one to become one of the most valuable trading cards in existence, the Black Lotus. It is estimated that do to the rarity of the card that only around 1,100 of these cards still exists.

In 2022, singer Post Malone purchased a rare mint copy of the Black Lotus card for an unheard of $800,000. At the time this was the most ever spent on a single Magic: The Gathering card at auction. That is until he one-upped himself by purchasing the exclusive Lord of the Rings “One Ring” card for $2 Million dollars.
